Antibeliefs
We spend enormous energy changing practices. We adopt new frameworks, redesign processes and catalog antipatterns. Results improve briefly, partially, or not at all. Something upstream of the practice is shaping outcomes and results aren’t improving.
This session introduces the concept of antibeliefs: beliefs that feel true, are often held with conviction, and consistently drive behavior that works against the outcomes we’d like to achieve. Unlike antipatterns, which are visible in practice, antibeliefs operate beneath the surface. They may never manifest as a recognized antipattern at all- until the belief itself is examined.
Drawing on decades of experience across organizations of every size and type, Todd explores why beliefs are so resistant to change, what it takes to shift them, and how to navigate effectively when they won’t move. The session might make some people uncomfortable. That’s the point.
