Technology Quotient and New-Age Leadership

Abstract

This talk will open with IQ and EQ concepts and then introduce the premise of TQ. Digital transformation worldwide has accelerated in personal life as well as in enterprises. Technology has become all-pervasive including legacy services and verticals. Simultaneously, the leadership definition is also going through a metamorphosis. This is partly as its natural evolution, partly due to entrepreneurial zeal, but also to a large extent due to the new normal paradigm. In this presentation, we will discuss three key themes for new-age leaders to imbibe in this fast-changing world.

Bio

Dr. De is B.Tech from IIT-Kharagpur, ME from IISc-Bangalore and Ph.D from McGill Univ. He has 30+ years of Corporate R&D experience after his doctoral research. He has worked in Bharat Electronics, Nortel Network (Canada), Hughes Systems, ST-Ericsson (as Country Manager) and recently Corporate Vice President of Samsung Electronics, Korea and Samsung R&D India, Bangalore as CTO. Between 2005 and 2011, he has served as Distinguished Visiting Professor in IIT-Roorkee and Adjunct Professor in IIT-Delhi. He is Fellow of IETE, IEI and Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE).

Dr. De is a Missionpreneur. He has been incessantly crafting Core Technologies to build a 'Better Connected World with Enriched Human-Machine Interaction'. These solutions nestle in the intersection space of AI-IoT-BigData. Over the years, he has been solving complex problems: from Radar Systems to Futuristic Devices; from Rich Communication to Machine Understanding. He has recently co-edited a book on ‘6G Wireless Networks’ that has been touted by Springer as World’s first 6G book. On top of the numerous product contribution, he has numerous publications and 50+ patents granted/filed across countries.

For Technology Leadership, Dr. De has received numerous accolades, Alexander Graham Bell Prize (Canada), IETE Memorial Award, IDC Insights Award, Nasscom AI GameChanger Award; and also from IESA for 'Innovative Product', Zinnov for 'Intrapreneur of the Year', Assocham for 'Tech Leader of the Year' and TechCircle for 'Business Transformation'. His meticulous drive has made Samsung India an Innovation hub with : National ‘IP Award', Zinnov 'Great Place to Innovate', Nasscom ‘EngineeringR&D Center of the Year’.
